How will you fuel your faith today?
Sometimes we gotta add a little fuel to the fire, ya know? It’s true when building an actual fire in a fireplace (unless you have gas logs like us), it’s true in marriage, and it’s true in our relationship with God. It’s Monday, y’all. Let’s decide today how we are going to fuel our faith this week. What’s your plan? Drop it below so you can encourage and inspire others.
I deeply loved David the day we said, “I do!” But, after almost 15 years of marriage - of amazing moments, heartbreaking grief, children, ministry, loss, and celebration, I know so much more about the depths of his heart - what makes him tick, his dreams and ambitions, his loves. Honestly, the more I know him, the more my heart’s affections are stirred for him.
Paul prayed something powerful for his Philippian friends: “And I pray this: that your love will keep on growing in knowledge and every kind of discernment…” (Philippians 1:9)
Paul was praying for them to love God MORE. He was praying for them to have an active love, an informed love, and a wise love. So, why pray for their knowledge to grow? Because the more we really know God, the more our affections are stirred for Him, and, ultimately, the more we love Him.
One of the best things you can plan this week is to stir up your affections for God - to fuel your faith. Here are some ideas to get you started…
How to fuel your faith:
Write out a scripture
Listen to worship music
Start your day with prayer
Remember God’s faithfulness
Text some encouragement to a friend
Read your Bible
Talk to a friend about what God is doing in your life
Pray for someone else
Here’s to a more meaningful Monday!
